The Paul D. Camp Community College Department of Nursing and Allied Health is offering free advising sessions open to anyone interested in pursuing education in the health field.

The event will be held Tuesday, July 28, 2015, from 5 to 7 p.m. in room 129 on the Franklin Campus, 100 N. College Drive.

“Participants will receive an overview of the program, as well as learn about the application requirements,” said Pre-Nursing Advisor and Lab Coordinator Lucy Little.

In addition, attendees will find out about prerequisite courses; grade requirements; other program/degree requirements; and information about tuition, financial aid, placement testing and Kaplan testing.

“Participants should bring any questions related to the programs in which they are interested,” said Little.

Although the nursing programs are currently full, applications will be accepted for 2015-16 beginning in October.

“Currently, we have openings for the fall 2015 semester in the allied health programs of phlebotomy, nurse aide, medication aide, pharmacy technician, emergency medical technician — basic, emergency medical technician — intermediate and fire science,” said Dean of Nursing and Allied Health Debbie Hartman.
