A two-vehicle crash on Holland Road Tuesday afternoon had the road closed for part of the day.

A two-vehicle crash had part of Holland Road closed on Tuesday afternoon.

The wreck happened just before 1 p.m. and involved a flatbed tractor-trailer hauling bricks and a Chevrolet Impala, according to a city press release. Preliminary investigation found both vehicles were traveling eastbound when the tractor-trailer struck the Impala in the rear, causing it to strike a ditch, roll and come to rest on the driver’s side.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue personnel removed the roof from the vehicle to extricate the adult female driver, according to the press release. She was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital by ground ambulance, but her injuries were not considered life-threatening. The tractor-trailer driver was not injured.
