A dead black bear was removed from Route 58 on Monday.

It was reported shortly after 6 a.m.r, city spokeswoman Diana Klink said.

The bear was in the 6000 block of Holland Road, near Longstreet Lane. Klink said it appeared the bear had been hit by a vehicle.

It was removed from the roadway and picked up by Public Works, Klink added.
