Two shot, one in custody

One person is in custody, and two people are being treated for gunshot wounds, following a shooting early Monday.
The incident was reported at 12:24 a.m., according to a city press release. The caller said shots were fired in the 6100 block of Brookwood Drive in the College Square neighborhood.
When officers arrived, the victims and offender were no longer there, according to the release. However, police located a “person of interest” a short distance from the area with two firearms. The person, an adult male, was taken into custody. Police have not released his name because he has not yet been formally charged, city spokeswoman Diana Klink said.
One adult male victim responded to Sentara Belle Harbour with a gunshot wound at 1:47 a.m., according to the press release. A second adult male victim went to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital about 4:03 a.m. Both victims’ injuries are considered non-life-threatening, according to the press release.
The investigation is currently ongoing.
