William Darrel Brown

William Darrel Brown, 61, a lifelong residentĀ of Suffolk, died Friday, Aug. 21, 2015, after a long illness. His parents, William and Ernestine Brown, and his oldest sister, Sandra, preceded him in death.
Darrel was educated in the Nansemond County public school system and later enlisted in the U.S. Army. He was a dedicated and loyal employee of the Virginia Department of Transportation for 30 years.
He attended Higher Dimension Family Outreach Center in Suffolk and joined Christian Home Baptist Church in Windsor at an early age.
His loving survivors include his beloved and devoted wife, Belinda Goodman Brown; daughter, Symone, of Suffolk; son, Denzel (Lynn), of Woodbridge; three sisters, his twin, Willette Diann, of Virginia Beach, Sheila, of Charlotte, N.C., and Jacqueline Brown (Curtis) Woody, of Upper Marlboro, Md.; grandchildren, Janiia and Ashad; father-in-law, Raymond Goodman Sr.; sister-in-law, Patrica Goodman; brother-in-law, Raymond Goodman Jr.; nieces and nephews, Michelle Haley, Derrick Brown, Derrina Brown, Jonathan Woody, Ryan Key, Randon Key, Hannah Boyce, Patrick Goodman, Annalicia and Sharonda Goodman; along with grandnieces, grandnephews, many cousins, relatives and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his homegoing celebration at noon, Friday, Aug. 28, at East End Baptist Church, 523 E. Washington St., in Suffolk.
