Suffolk police on Friday evening arrested a man accused of the armed robbery of a convenience store early Thursday.

Robert McCoy Brown Jr. was arrested without incident, according to a city press release. After a picture of the suspect from surveillance cameras at the Kangaroo in the 800 block of West Washington Street was circulated in the media, police identified him as Brown, 46, according to the city.

He is being held at Western Tidewater Regional Jail.
