Paul Vincent Marshall, 51, of Madison and formerly of Suffolk, passed away Sept. 13, 2015, in his home.

He is survived by his two daughters, Jordan (Jason) McMurtry, of Chesterfield, and Katherine (James) Davis, of Wallace, N.C., three brothers, Bill Marshall, Ronnie (Ann) Brinkley, Steven (Sarah) Marshall; a sister, Cecelia (Willie) Ramsey; four grandsons; and a stepmother, Mary Marshall.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary G. Brinkley; a stepfather, “Papa” Tim Brinkley, and his biological father, Rudolph F. Marshall. He attended Suffolk High School and later earned his GED along with his mother in 1988. Paul starting working for the Suffolk News-Herald as a teenager delivering the daily paper and eventually worked his way up to the pressroom supervisor. He continued to work in newspapers for more than 30 years and won several awards for his printing.
