Suffolk man charged in Portsmouth robbery

A Suffolk man has been arrested in a Thursday bank robbery in Portsmouth.
Leon A. Norman, 48, of the 4200 block of Hardy Drive, is charged with robbery and is being held in the Portsmouth City Jail, according to a police department press release.
According to the release, the bank robbery was reported at 4:36 p.m. at the SunTrust Bank at 4016 Victory Blvd.
According to detectives, the male suspect entered the bank and gave the clerk a note demanding money. The clerk complied with his demands and the suspect left the bank and got into a gold sedan.
