Police seek would-be robber

Police are seeking a suspect in an attempted armed robbery that took place early Wednesday morning.
An employee at the Kangaroo Express gas station in the 800 block of West Washington Street called 911 at 3:25 a.m. A black male wearing a bandanna over his face entered the store, displayed a weapon and demanded money. After finding no money in the register, he fled on foot, according to a city press release.
The subject appeared younger than 21 years old, was 5 foot 3 inches to 5 foot 5 inches, and was about 135 pounds, according to the press release. He was wearing a green hoodie, jeans and a camouflage bandanna. His forehead was described as having peeling skin.
Anyone who has information is asked to call Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP or text the keyword SPDVATIP and the tip to 274637 (CRIMES). Tipsters never have to give their names or appear in court, and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
