Cole Christiansen, senior for Nansemond-Suffolk Academy football: He was instrumental both offensively and defensively in helping the host Saints knock off conference rival Bishop Sullivan Catholic High School 50-32 on Friday night. Rebecca Dixon, junior for King’s Fork High School golf: She is a first-year golfer, but she shined like a veteran during the Conference 17 tournament on Tuesday and Wednesday at Bide-A-Wee Golf Course. She produced the fifth-best individual score in the event, a two-day total of 161, to qualify for regional play and to make the all-conference first team.

Terrence Lambert, senior for Nansemond River High School football: He was a terror to the defense of visiting Hickory High School on Friday night, helping lead his team to a 61-6 victory. The 61 points represented a school record for points scored. He finished the game with eight carries for 100 yards and three touchdowns.
