Following are this week’s nominees for the Duke Automotive-Suffolk News-Herald Player of the Week:

Deleah Scott, junior Lakeland High School field hockey: She was the deciding factor in her team’s shootout victory over host Nansemond River High School on Wednesday. She stopped two Lady Warriors players from scoring during the shootout and held NR scoreless for the majority of regulation.

Cole Christiansen, senior for Nansemond-Suffolk Academy football: He was instrumental both offensively and defensively in helping the host Saints knock off conference rival Bishop Sullivan Catholic High School 50-32 on Friday night. He had eight carries for 76 yards and three touchdowns and also logged four tackles, one for a loss, and a sack on defense.

Rebecca Dixon, junior for King’s Fork High School golf: She is a first-year golfer, but she shined like a veteran during the Conference 17 tournament on Tuesday and Wednesday at Bide-A-Wee Golf Course. She produced the fifth-best individual score in the event, a two-day total of 161, to qualify for regional play and to make the all-conference first team.

Terrence Lambert, senior for Nansemond River High School football: He was a terror to the defense of visiting Hickory High School on Friday night, helping lead his team to a 61-6 victory. The 61 points represented a school record for points scored. He finished the game with eight carries for 100 yards and three touchdowns.
