Edwin Ellis Vaughan, 87, passed away on Sept. 28, 2015. He was born a twin on Feb. 29, 1928, in Suffolk to the late William Bruce and Lillie Mae Vaughan. Edwin was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church, where he faithfully served his Lord. He was a loving family man, and his favorite hobby was being Pop Pop to his grandchildren.

Left to cherish his memory are daughter, Susan Vaughan Boyle (Patrick); son, Gary Edwin Vaughan (Stacey); grandchildren, Derek Boyle, Claire Boyle, Ty Vaughan and Tripp Vaughan.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, Oct. 1, 2015, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 237 N. Main St., Suffolk, with the Rev. Dr. Thurman R. Hayes Jr. and the Rev. Gary Edwin Vaughan officiating, with burial following in Cedar Hill Cemetery. There will be a visitation at the church prior to the service from noon to 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lottie Moon Christmas offering at First Baptist Church to carry the gospel around the world.
