Event cancellations

The following events have been canceled. This list will be updated throughout the weekend, with most recent cancellations at the top.

  • The PTA open houses scheduled for Thursday at Mack Benn Jr. and Kilby Shores elementary schools have been canceled and rescheduled for Oct. 15.
  • All afternoon and evening Suffolk Public Schools activities on Friday have been canceled, including the varsity football games scheduled to be played in Chesapeake.
  • Kilby Shores Elementary School PTA has rescheduled its annual yard sale scheduled for Saturday to Nov. 7.
  • The fall community picnic at Beech Grove United Methodist Church, scheduled for Saturday. It will be rescheduled, but a date has not yet been set.
  • The yard sale to benefit the dance team at Dynamic Movements, scheduled for Saturday. It has been rescheduled for Oct. 11, coinciding with a blood drive already planned from 2 to 6 p.m.
  • The NAACP “Community Conversations with Our Public Servants,” scheduled for Thursday night. It will be rescheduled to a date as yet undetermined.
  • The fall festival at Main Street United Methodist Church. It is rescheduled to Oct. 31.
  • The Chuckatuck Turkey Shoot, scheduled for Saturday. It will continue to take place on Saturdays through February.
  • The Junto Woman’s Club flea market and bake sale, scheduled for Saturday. It has been rescheduled to Oct. 10.
  • The fish fry at Berea Christian Church, scheduled for Saturday. It has been rescheduled to Nov. 14.
  • The Great Dismal Swamp Washington Ditch Nature Walk, scheduled for Saturday.
  • The Legends of Main Street: Suffolk Ghost Walk, scheduled for Saturday.
  • The Great Dismal Swamp Narrated Bus Tour, scheduled for Sunday.
  • The City Council Retreat, scheduled for Thursday and Friday. It will be rescheduled, but a date has not yet been determined.
  • The Peanut Fest Parade and pre-parade reception.
  • The Peanut Fest 5K/1-Mile Walk by Suffolk on the Move. The event will not be rescheduled.
  • Skydive Suffolk’s Jumping for a Purpose.
  • The Suffolk Boys and Girls Club Oyster Roast, which has been rescheduled to Nov. 7.
  • The Touch a Truck, Train and More at the Suffolk Seaboard Station Railroad Museum.
  • The Suffolk Farmer’s Market.
  • The Lipton 60th anniversary celebration, which has been rescheduled for Nov. 15.
