Inclement weather has led to notable changes in the sports schedules of Suffolk’s high schools.
King’s Fork High School activities director Randy Jessee confirmed the school’s Friday football game against Great Bridge High School has been rescheduled for Monday at 7 p.m. It will be played at Great Bridge Middle School.
Lakeland High School activities director Gregory Rountree confirmed the Cavaliers are now scheduled to play football against Deep Creek High School on Monday at 7 p.m. The game will take place at Deep Creek Middle School.
Rountree also confirmed he and Jessee have discussed the possibility that should the Monday games get pushed to Tuesday, they might push the Oct. 9 game between King’s Fork and Lakeland back to Oct. 10.
Nansemond River High School activities director Kristy Brett stated that as of Friday afternoon, she had verbal confirmation that the Warriors are scheduled to make up their road game against Indian River High School on Oct. 13, a Tuesday, at 7 p.m. But given the weather, this date is subject to change.
Nansemond-Suffolk Academy director of boys’ athletics T.W. Johnson confirmed that the sailing event scheduled for Saturday morning at the Norfolk Yacht and Country Club has been canceled, and he was not yet aware of a make-up date.
