A Suffolk man has been arrested after an altercation at a 7-Eleven store over the weekend.

Officers were dispatched to the convenience store in the 1100 block of Portsmouth Boulevard on Sunday in reference to an assault and a discharge of a firearm, according to city spokeswoman Diana Klink.

Investigators determined a verbal argument between the victim and the suspect escalated and became physical while at the automated teller machine, Klink said.
