Lady Dolphins down NSA

The Nansemond-Suffolk Academy girls’ tennis team fell 9-0 on Thursday evening to visiting Cape Henry Collegiate School, the defending Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association Division I state champion.
Nevertheless, there were some very close matches.

- No. 2 V. Grinde (CH) def. Ria Khandpur (NSA) 6-3, 6-2
- No. 3 F. Clunan (CH) def. Allison Gottlieb (NSA) 6-2, 7-5
- No. 4 K. Kalfus (CH) def. Caitlyn Hannah (NSA) 6-3, 6-0
- No. 5 L. Limroth (CH) def. Anuja Shah (NSA) 1-6, 6-3, 10-6
- No. 6 C. Brown (CH) def. Mercer Hartman (NSA) 6-3, 7-5
Following are the doubles results:

It was Senior Day for the Lady Saints’ three seniors and co-captains, Hartman, Khandpur and Shah.
Nansemond-Suffolk finishes the regular season with an 8-6 overall record, 6-2 in the Tidewater Conference of Independent Schools.
As of the Thursday, the Lady Saints were No. 3 in the VISAA Division II state rankings.
