The National Exchange Club has announced that Robert “Bob” L. Moore Jr., of Suffolk, was inducted into the organization’s Court of Honor on Oct. 24. Moore, a member of the Exchange Clubs of Suffolk and Wythe, Hampton, has belonged to Exchange since 1968 and was inducted alongside four others in honor of his outstanding contributions to the 104-year-old service organization.

Moore has served as a National Volunteer Field Representative since 1994, and as Colonial District President (1998-1999) and Colonial District Director (1989-1992). He has been a club builder for four clubs and sponsor for eight new members. Moore is a two-time recipient of the National Volunteer Field Representative of the Year award, and was recognized with a National Presidential Award.

Induction into the Court of Honor, located at the National Exchange Club headquarters in Toledo, Ohio, bestows the highest and most lasting recognition an Exchangite can receive. Honorees and guests are invited to an annual induction ceremony, where their permanently inscribed names are unveiled on one of the seven granite monuments in the Court of Honor courtyard. There are more than 100 names inscribed on the Court of Honor pylons, including Charles Berkey, the founder of Exchange; Dr. Edward R. North Jr., founder of the National Exchange Club Foundation for the Prevention of Child Abuse; Thomas L. Bailey, author of the Covenant of Service; and Herold M. Harter, who served as Exchange’s national secretary for 44 years.
