James Thomas Copeland Jr., 36, of Lake Kennedy Drive, went to be with the Lord on Oct. 29, 2015. He was born to Betty L. Council and the late James T. Copeland Sr. on Feb. 10, 1979. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Lillie Mae Copeland.

Tee graduated from Nansemond River High School and also served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was a former member of Oak Grove Baptist Church before relocating to Richmond. He later joined Balm of Gilead Church.

Left to cherish his memory is his mother, Betty L. Council; three daughters, T’asia Copeland, Alexis Copeland, of Suffolk, and Inara Copeland, of Richmond; one son, Taj Copeland; grandparents, William and Ruth Council; his only sister, Sherita Copeland; two nephews, Jaylen and Jabron Copeland; one niece, Joiden Copeland; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

Services will be held at noon, Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2015, at Oak Grove Baptist Church officiated by Dr. Anthony Copeland. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery.
