Harrell reaches 1,000 digs in win

The Nansemond-Suffolk Academy girls’ volleyball team defeated visiting Norfolk Collegiate School 25-18, 25-9, 25-9 in the TCIS quarterfinals on Tuesday night.
During the contest, libero Logan Harrell became only the third Lady Saints player to reach 1,000 career digs and the first to do so in her junior year.
“Logan is doing amazing,” NSA coach Robyn Ross said. “I have always had really high expectations for all of my players, and she is far exceeding those.”
The other Nansemond-Suffolk standouts to reach 1,000 digs were Kaylor Nash and Bridget Murphy.
Harrell had 25 digs on Tuesday to go with three aces and 15 points on serve. Junior outside hitter Livi Bono had 16 kills, and junior setter Nicole Wright registered 32 assists.
Nansemond-Suffolk (25-7) faces Norfolk Academy in the Tidewater Conference of Independent Schools tournament semifinals on Friday at 5 p.m. at Peninsula Catholic High School.
The conference tournament championship is set for Saturday at 6 p.m. at Peninsula Catholic.
