Marjorie Jones Newsome, 76, of Suffolk, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2015, at Sentara Obici Hospital. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ida May Jones.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Cary Newsome Jr.; three daughters, Laverne Boykins (Thomas), Wanda Newby (Calvin) and Brenda Atkins, all of Suffolk; one son, Cary Newsome III, of Southampton County; stepson, Donell Johnson, of Suffolk; nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Homegoing service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 9, 2015, at Macedonia A.M.E. Church, 127 Pine St., Suffolk. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery.
