It may not even be Thanksgiving yet, but it’s time to start looking down the road towards Christmas and all it brings, including parades.

The Suffolk Holiday Parade is scheduled for Dec. 12 in historic downtown Suffolk. This year’s theme is “A Storybook Holiday.”

Local groups and businesses are encouraged to submit applications to enter into various units: bands, marching/walking groups, lighted floats, specialty groups, motorized and animal.

Applications are available through Nov. 13. There is a $50 parade registration fee. The application can be found on the web at www.suffolkva.us/parks/special-events or is available at the Parks and Recreation administrative offices, 134 S. Sixth St.
