Firefighter injured in blaze

A firefighter was injured and two people were displaced in a fire Monday afternoon in the 2400 block of Cherry Blossom Drive.
The fire was reported at 2:06 p.m., and the first units arrived at 2:17 p.m., according to a city press release. Heavy flames were showing from the attached garage of the single-story home when firefighters arrived. Both of the occupants were able to evacuate the home prior to their arrival.
The firefighter’s injuries are not considered life-threatening, according to the release. The home was heavily damaged, and the two adults are being assisted by the American Red Cross.
The fire was called under control at 2:58 p.m. Its cause is undetermined so far, and the fire marshal’s office is handling the investigation.
