The Children’s Center has received a $5,000 Basic Human Services Grant from Bank of America. The grant will be used to purchase kitchen equipment at the center’s various sites in Western Tidewater.
The Children’s Center provides three meals a day (breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack) for children in the Early Head Start, Head Start and Community Childcare programs.
Bank of America and the Children’s Center have partnered several times during the last six years. In 2009, the bank awarded the Children’s Center a $200,000 Neighborhood Builder’s grant. The center also received a $5,000 grant from the bank in 2013 to purchase a hearing screener.
“We are grateful for the continuous partnership we have had with Bank of America,” said Jeff Zeigler, community relations coordinator at the Children’s Center. “Bank of America continues to provide opportunities for nonprofits throughout Virginia and the United States.”
