Eugene Davis, 64, affectionately known as “Slug,” entered into eternal rest on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015, at Sentara Obici Hospital. He was born on Jan. 13, 1951, in Suffolk, to the late Frank Davis and Victoria Davis.

Eugene graduated from John F. Kennedy High School and served in the United States Army. He retired from Newport News Shipyard after many years of dedicated service. He was a devoted member of Church of the Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Frank Davis Jr., and his sister, Francine Davis.

He leaves behind two sons, Bernard E. Robinson and Di-Wayne L. Robinson; two brothers, Willie J. Davis and Joseph Davis (Elnora); sister, Josephine D. Lassiter (Ricky); special friend, Maxine C. Robinson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mr. Davis’s visitation will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 10, 2015, at the funeral home, and the family will receive guests at 214 Woodhaven Drive, Suffolk, VA 23435. A celebration of life service will take place at 1 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 11, 2015, at Church of the Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith Church, 1218 25th St., Newport News, VA 23607, and he will be laid to rest at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery.
