Corey Jason Achstein, 28, passed away Dec. 28, 2015. He worked in the Apprentice Program as a boiler maker at Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He was a member of Suffolk Christian Church.

Corey is survived by his parents, Virginia “Ginnie” Walker Kinsey and John Kinsey, Stephen “Steve” Michael Achstein and Rebecca Cross; maternal grandmother, Elizabeth Walker; paternal grandmother, Helen Achstein; sister, Kayla Pierce; brother, Kevin Cross; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Horton Walker, Nathan Achstein, Eddie and Pearl Kinsey.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, Jan. 3, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Suffolk Christian Church, 216 N. Main St., Suffolk, with the Rev. Michael D. Halley officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Lawn Cemetery. Friends may join the family Saturday afternoon for a visitation from 2 to 4 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory.
