The Virginia DMV customer service center in Suffolk has been closed until Thursday for repairs associated with burst pipes, according to a DMV spokeswoman.

“There was a pipe issue, so they’re fixing that as we speak,” Brandy Brubaker said Tuesday afternoon. “We had a repair that had to get taken care of ASAP.”

Brubaker said a pipe had burst at the 1040 Centerbrooke Lane facility and that officials hope to have the office open again on Thursday.

“Meantime, we encourage customers to go online to our website,” she said. “There are more than 40 transactions that can be done there.”

Customers wishing to visit the Suffolk office on Thursday should first check online at www.dmv.virginia.gov to confirm it has reopened, she added.
