Henrietta Hinkle King

Henrietta Hinkle King, 69, of Suffolk, passed away on Monday, Jan. 4, 2016, at Sentara Obici Hospital.

Henrietta was born on Nov. 4, 1946, on Hinkle Mountain in Richwood, W.Va. She was predeceased by her parents Roberta Puckett Hinkle and Philip Hinkle.

Henrietta was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church since 1980, and was a member of the Altar Guild. She was a member and volunteer of Riddick’s Folly House Museum, a member of the Suffolk-Nansemond Historical Society, and loved collecting American antiques. She was a loving wife for 30 years.

She is survived by her husband, Edward Lee King of Suffolk; cousins Bob Williams of Belen, N.M., Margaret Morgan of Richwood, W.Va.; and a nephew, Cory Hanifan of Dale City.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in the R. W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, 509 W. Washington St., Suffolk, by the Rev. Keith Emerson. The family will receive friends in the funeral home from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

The family requests that memorial donations be made to Riddick’s Folly House Museum, 510 N. Main St, Suffolk, VA 23434; to the Suffolk-Nansemond Historical Society, 137 Bank St, Suffolk, VA 23434; or to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 213 N. Main St, Suffolk, VA 23434.
