A family has been temporarily displaced from its home following a fire early Wednesday morning in the 4900 block of Milners Road.

Two adults, a dog and a cat are staying with family members following a fire that damaged their home in the rural Chuckatuck Borough of Suffolk, according to city officials.

Firefighters were called to the home at 1:13 a.m. and arrived at 1:19 a.m. to find smoke showing from the two-story residence, Suffolk spokeswoman Diana Klink stated in a press release.

They worked quickly to locate the fire in a single-story addition at the rear of the home. The fire was brought under control at 1:41 a.m. There were no injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
