William Terrence “Terry” Cross, 49, of 209 St. James Ave., Suffolk, transitioned into eternal rest on Friday, Jan. 8, 2016, at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. He was the son of the late George L. Cross Sr. and Luverta Goodman.

He was a native of Nansemond County and born on Nov. 6, 1966. He was a 1986 graduate of Forest Glen High School.

He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Aimee Monet Cross, of Suffolk; three brothers, George L. Cross Jr. (Veral), Larry Goodman (Etta) and Clarence Smith, all of Suffolk; three sisters, Catherlene Smith, of Surry County, Luvenia Ross (Richard) and Georgia Mae Redding, all of Suffolk; he loved dearly his granddaughter, Taelor and grandson, Tayler, of Suffolk; he will truly be missed by his special nephew, Antoine Goodman; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A celebration of life will be held noon Thursday, Jan. 14, 2016, at New Gospel Temple C.O.G.I.C., 236 Mineral Spring Road, Suffolk. Superintendent Gerald W. Goodman will deliver the eulogy. He will be laid to rest in Carver Memorial Cemetery. The family will be receiving guests at 125 Lawson Circle, Suffolk, VA 23434.
