Three graduate from JMU

James Madison University announced the following Suffolk students graduated during the Dec. 19, 2015, commencement exercises.

  • Jacqueline Asbell, who earned a degree in graphic design
  • Colleen Rawls, who earned a degree in nursing
  • Gina Markle, who earned a degree in occupational therapy

 

JMU names President’s List

James Madison University announced that the following Suffolk students made the President’s List for the fall 2015 semester.

  • Breanna Barbeau, who is majoring in health sciences and is scheduled to graduate in 2016.
  • Shelby Brown, who is majoring in health sciences and is scheduled to graduate in 2016.

JMU names Dean’s List

James Madison University announced that the following Suffolk students made the dean’s list for the fall 2015 semester.

  • Graham Wagner, who is scheduled to graduate in 2016 and is majoring in biology.
  • David Raines, who is scheduled to graduate in 2017 and is majoring in finance.
  • Courtney Brown, who is scheduled to graduate in 2016 and is majoring in health sciences.
  • Preston Firnstahl, who is scheduled to graduate in 2018 and is majoring in health sciences.
  • Madison Hansen who is scheduled to graduate in 2018 and is majoring in international affairs.
  • Derek Johnson who is scheduled to graduate in 2018 and is majoring in math.
  • Kasey Askew, who is scheduled to graduate in 2016 and is majoring in nursing.
  • Kaitlyn Bridgeforth, who is scheduled to graduate in 2019 and is majoring in psychology.
  • Jeremy Hodgkiss, who is scheduled to graduate in 2018 and is majoring in quantitative finance.
  • Kassandra Barbeau, who is scheduled to graduate in 2019 and has not declared a major.

 

Brown named to Dean’s List

Courtney Nicole Brown, of Suffolk, has been named to the Dean’s List at James Madison University for the fall 2015 semester. Students who earn dean’s list honors must carry at least 12 graded credit hours and earn a grade point average between 3.5 and 3.899. Brown is scheduled to graduate in 2016 and is majoring in health sciences.

 

Hill named to Dean’s List

Jeremy Hill, of Suffolk, has been named to the University of Dayton’s fall 2015 Dean’s List, which honors undergraduate students achieving a minimum 3.5 grade point average for the semester.

 

Bates named to Dean’s List

Kimberly Bates has been named to the Dean’s List in recognition of academic excellence during the fall 2015 semester at New River Community College.

A Dean’s List student is one who has taken 12 college-level semester hours of credit or more and attained a grade point average of 3.2 for any one semester.

Chowan names President’s List

Chowan University officially announced the President’s List honorees for fall 2015. Those on the President’s List are full-time students who have accomplished a grade point average of 3.8 or better for the semester. This distinction will become part of their official record.

  • Calvin Bowe, a junior majoring in criminal justice law enforcement
  • Aaron Flanagan, a sophomore majoring in criminal justice law enforcement
  • Samara Hardiman, a sophomore majoring in graphic design
  • Chantel Roberts, a junior majoring in exercise science
  • Bethaney Tinto, a senior majoring in graphic communications

 

Bob Jones names Dean’s List

The following Suffolk students are among approximately 890 Bob Jones University students named to the Dean’s List for academic achievement during the fall 2015 semester. To qualify for the Dean’s List, students must earn a 3.0-3.74 grade point average.

  • Hannah Brown, a senior exercise science major
  • Paul Fleury, a junior business administration major
