UPDATED 5:10 p.m.: Crews continue to treat surfaces as necessary, City spokeswoman Diana Klink said in a press release.
Drivers are encouraged to use caution as temperatures drop overnight, she said. She suggested allowing extra time to reach your destination and avoiding sudden stops or accelerations.
Earlier: Suffolk police have responded to three crashes on Route 58 since winter weather began Sunday.
At 12:45 p.m., one eastbound and two westbound crashes had been reported, city spokeswoman Diana Klink stated. There were no injuries.
Suffolk Public Works began just before 10 a.m. treating bridges and the Route 58 Bypass with salt and abrasives, Klink said. They expected to be done by 3 p.m
Klink said the snow was not anticipated to accumulate on roads at a depth to warrant plowing, but crews were ready to respond if needed.
