Mother Lillian Louise Goodman was called home to be with our Lord and Savior on Jan. 18, 2016, at Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk.

She was surrounded by her loving family and friends. Lillian was a native of Gates County, N.C., and a former member of Eatons Temple in Gates, N.C. Once Lillian moved to Virginia in 1988, she attended Rising St. James PHC and later Total Transformation House of Praise under the leadership of the late Bishop D.L. Whitfield.

She leaves to cherish her memories two children, Elder Glendell Whitfield and Ricky Vann; three grandchildren, Leonna Whitfield, Lacoya Whitfield and Tanesha Whitfield, all of Suffolk; special friends, Herbert Wilson, of Suffolk, the Rev. Bernadette Melton, of Gates County, N.C., and Jackie Clemons of Suffolk; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016, at noon at New Mt. Joy Food for Living Ministries. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. A visitation with the family will be Friday from 2 to 8 p.m. at 312 Greenfield Crescent, Suffolk. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home Inc.
