The Children’s Center is still taking applications in Suffolk for Early Head Start and Head Start.

To be eligible for Head Start, children must be at least 3 years old. Early Head Start serves children ages birth through 3, along with pregnant moms.

To enroll for Early Head Start or Head Start, you will need the following items to complete the enrollment application process:

• Birth certificate (Birth Letter is acceptable for EHS only)
• Proof of residency (Utility bill, lease, etc.)
• Proof of income or eligibility using one of these: W-2 or 1040 tax form; four most recent pay stubs; TANF or SSI documentation; unemployment letter; foster child documentation; or child support documentation.

If you work and also receive child support or have other income, you must provide proof of that additional income.

Also, bring the child’s current physical form, current immunization records, health insurance card and IEP or IFSP, if applicable, for children with a disability.

Applications are available at each Children’s Center site. The Children’s Center in Suffolk is located at 300 Executive Court, off Wilroy Road.
