Brush fire extinguished in Holland

About a quarter of an acre of brush and a shed were damaged in a Saturday afternoon fire in the Holland area.

The fire was reported at 2:32 p.m. after a passerby reported smoke in the area. Units arrived at 2:42 p.m. and found a woods fire with a shed involved, according to a city press release.

The Holland Volunteer Fire Department and Carrsville Volunteer Fire Department responded to battle the fire along with paid firefighters.

The blaze was called under control at 3:10 p.m., according to the release. Damage to the shed was estimated at about $5,000.

There were no injuries, according to the release. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
