On Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016, Margaret Holland peacefully passed away at her home surrounded by her family. She was predeceased by her parents, Allen and Harriett Johnson; her husband, Linwood Holland; one son, Horace Holland; two sisters, Hazel Boddie and Dorothy Hall; three brothers, Robert Earl, Rufus and George Johnson.

Margaret joined Laurel Hill United Baptist Church at an early age, and she worked at Daughtrey Peanut Factory for several years.

Left to cherish her memory are five daughters, Thelma Myrick (Fred), Margaret Walton, Jarleene Holland, Earleene Holland and Jacklyn Holland; six sons, John Holland, Carroll Holland, James Holland (Linda), Clyde Holland, Dennis Holland and Thomas Holland (Emma); three sisters, Mary Johnson, Mildred Streeter (Johnnie) and Harriett Felton (Roy); one brother, Murry Johnson (Gloria); and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, cousins and friends.

Ms. Holland’s visitation will take place from noon to 6 p.m., and a wake service will take place from 6 to 7 p.m., on Wednesday, Feb. 10, at the funeral home. A home going service will take place at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 11, at Apostolic Faith Church of God, and she will be laid to rest at Hunter Cemetery.
