Virginia voters will do their part today to choose which presidential candidates will appear on November’s ballot.

The polls open for Virginia’s primaries at 6 a.m., just hours after three presidential hopefuls wrapped up final campaign swings through Hampton Roads.

Republican candidates Marco Rubio and Ben Carson stumped in Virginia Beach on Sunday and Monday, respectively. Going into Super Tuesday, both have trailed behind apparent GOP presidential frontrunner Donald Trump.

Hillary Clinton, the top contender for the Democratic nomination, also made a stop in Norfolk Monday night. Her challenger, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, rallied supporters in Norfolk last week.

On Monday, registrar Susan Saunders said she didn’t want to project voter turnout for the dual primary.

“I always hope for a large turnout,” Saunders said. “This is the time when people have a chance to voice their opinions by way of their votes.”

Polls across Suffolk will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Voters will need to present a photo identification to vote.

Voters may find information such as their polling place and sample ballot at elections.virginia.gov. Voters may also call 800-552-9745 and select Option 1 for additional information.
