On March 3, 2016, God sent his angels to free Patience Porter from this earthly body to her resting place with him. She was born May 24,1931, to the late Dorothy and Frank Mann in Suffolk. Patience was raised by her grandmother, Patience Davis Ensley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ozie Earl Porter Sr., her daughter, Dorothea Porter Harrison, and granddaughter, Jacqueline Porter. She is survived by daughters Nancy Oliver (John), of Suffolk, Janet Wilson (James), of Gloucester, one son, Ozie Porter (Vivian), of Suffolk, six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. A home going service will be held at noon Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at Christian Home Baptist Church, 20123 Longview Drive, Windsor.
