Man struck by minivan

A 48-year-old man suffered non life-threatening injuries when he was hit by a minivan in the 1600 block of Holland Road at Hillcrest Baptist Church on Saturday.
According to Suffolk officials, the victim was performing groundskeeping near the road at about 12:18 p.m., when the 60-year-old driver ran off the road, struck a curb and then hit him.
The driver remained at the scene and has been charged with reckless driving, according to a press release from Suffolk spokesman Tim Kelley.
Suffolk Fire & Rescue responded to the scene and provided emergency medical assessment and treatment for the victim, who was then taken by ambulance to Sentara Obici Hospital.
