Player of the Week Nominations

Following are this week’s nominees for the Duke Automotive-Suffolk News-Herald Player of the Week:

  • Brianna Farrenkopf, senior for Suffolk Christian Academy softball: She helped the Lady Knights start their season with a dominant 23-3 win over host Alliance Christian Academy on Friday. She pitched all five innings of the game, throwing 10 strikeouts and giving up only three hits. She was also productive at the plate, going 2-for-5.
  • James Mullin, junior for Nansemond-Suffolk Academy baseball: He helped the Saints start their season 3-0 on the road this past week. In Wednesday’s 2-1 win over Highland School in Warrenton, he got the win on the mound. In Friday’s 5-3 victory over a talented Covenant School team in Charlottesville, he got the save.
