Aaron Lemonte Hunter

On March 11, 2016, God called home our beloved son, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew, and friend, Aaron Lemonte Hunter, affectionately known as “Pound.” He was born on Feb. 22, 1993.

A native of Suffolk, Aaron was a 2013 graduate of Lakeland High School and participated in the Lakeland High School band his entire high school career.

Aaron leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Aspiring Minister Johnnella Hunter; father, Kenyon Harris; two sisters, Shantia Scott (Montreal) and Kiana Dildy; two brothers, Ethan Thurman and Lebron Harris; maternal grandparents, Letraril Wofford-Knight (Alvin), John Riddick (Gloria), Melvin Wofford Sr.; and paternal grandmother Lillian Harris.

Mr. Hunter’s visitation will take place from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, March 18, at the funeral home. A celebration of life service will be held at noon Saturday, March 19, at New Mt. Joy Food for Living Ministries Church, and he will be laid to rest at Carver Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the Hunter family requests memorial donations be made payable to T.E. Cooke-Overton Funeral Home, 405 Johnson Ave., Suffolk, VA 23434.
