Shirley “Jean” Simpson, 67, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2016, at Sentara Norfolk General Heart Hospital in Norfolk.

Shirley is survived by her loving daughter, LaTonia N. Simpson; two grandchildren, Jeniyah and Jayvion Simpson; six brothers, Billie Brown (Lois), William Brown (Sylvia), Andrew Brown (Elaine), Jimmy Brown, Johnnie Brown (Dair) and Henry Brown; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her oldest brother, Walter Brown.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 19, 2016, at Piney Grove Baptist Church, Suffolk, with interment at Nansemond-Suffolk Cemetery. A viewing will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Metropolitan, Portsmouth.
