The Board of Directors of the Suffolk Art League has announced applications are available for the 2016-2017 Suffolk Art League’s Sharon Picot and Chip Picot Memorial Student Scholarship.
This student scholarship is available to students entering grades 6 to 12 in the 2016-2017 school year. They must either live in or attend public, private or home school in Suffolk.
This year the art league is offering up to $2,500 in scholarship funds for students to pursue their interest in the visual, performing or literary arts. They may use their scholarship funding for such things as taking classes or lessons, purchase of materials, instruments or equipment, or attending workshops or conferences. This is not a college scholarship.
The deadline to apply for the Suffolk Art League’s Sharon Picot and Chip Picot Memorial Student Scholarship is April 21. Applications must include a completed application form, a brief essay written by the student, and a recommendation from a teacher, guidance counselor or other knowledgeable person.
The Sharon Picot and Chip Picot Scholarship applications are available from Suffolk school guidance offices and arts teachers. They are also available at the Suffolk Art Gallery, 118 Bosley Ave. or by calling the Suffolk Art League office at 925-0448 or visit www.suffolkartleague.org.
