Wesley Carrol Nickerson, 75, went to be with his Lord on March 25, 2016. He was born in Roanoke to the late Wesley Wescott Nickerson and Annie Catherine Carrol Nickerson. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a military policeman during the Vietnam conflict. He retired as an electrician from Norship Co. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Suffolk and attended Sunday school.

Wesley is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Maryann Russell Nickerson; sons, David L. Nickerson, Russell A. Nickerson and wife, Shelly, and Christopher L. Nickerson; grandchildren, Stephanie A., Allison Q., and Jared W. Boles; sister, Anne N. Jones and husband, William; sister-in-law, Betty G. Russell; brother-in-law, Charlie W. Russell; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Wes’ funeral service will be Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at 2 p.m. in Parr Funeral Home & Crematory with the Rev. Charles W. Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Cypress Chapel Christian Church. The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Parr’s and other times at residence.
