Never too late for an egg hunt

If you’re still hunting for an Easter-related activity, a Chesapeake church has one.
Community Church, at 1935 Jolliff Road in Chesapeake, is hosting its annual Easter Eggstravaganza at 1:30 p.m. Sunday.
It’s a holdover from Easter Sunday, when the event was postponed because of rain.
“It’s on this week, rain or shine,” said Dawn Sutherland, communications director at the Chesapeake church.
More than 16,000 eggs will be hidden on church grounds for children to hunt, with search areas broken down into age-appropriate levels, she said.
There will also be bounce houses and plenty of snacks, including snow cones and popcorn for everyone.
Everyone in the community is welcome, she said.
Community Church is growing its footprint in Suffolk, with plans to expand into the downtown area of Suffolk next year, Sutherland said. Details are not yet available, she said.
