Alice Kay Johnson

Alice Kay Johnson, 67, passed into the arms of the Lord March 25 in Georgia. She was born in Suffolk to the late Clyde and Mossie Johnson. Kay was a member of Peachtree Corners Baptist Church in Georgia, where she was active in Happy Hearts and other parts of the church. She is predeceased by her brother, James A. Johnson.
Kay graduated from Suffolk High in 1967 and Duke University as a radiology tech. She went to work for DuPont on the mammo team, teaching what she learned to do and selling the equipment until retirement.
She is survived by her niece, Renee J. Strickland (Rev. Gene Strickland); two special great-nieces, Ashley “Jenna” Strickland, (fiance’ Dennis Nicoll), Rachel Strickland (fiance’ Noah Wiles); great-great-nephew Andrew James Baker, her pride and joy, “her little man”; her loving sister-in-law, Linda T. Johnson, and many special cousins and friends.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, April 6 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 237 N. Main St., Suffolk, with Dr. Thurman Hayes officiating.
