Suffolk police responded Monday to a minor accident involving a Suffolk Public Schools bus and a passenger vehicle.

It happened about 3:18 p.m. in the 5600 block of Godwin Boulevard. Nine students from King’s Fork High School were on the bus, according to a city press release.

Preliminary investigation found that the passenger van hit the rear of the bus. The driver of the van was issued a summons for following too closely, according to the press release.

The students were transported home on another bus.
