Man sought in stabbing investigation

Suffolk police are seeking the public’s assistance locating a man wanted in connection with the stabbing of a woman.

David Eugene Moore, 45, is wanted on a charge of aggravated malicious wounding, according to a city press release. He is described as a black male, 5 feet 5 inches tall, 160 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

According to the press release, officers responded to a residence in the 200 block of Charlotte Avenue after an emergency call placed at 11:41 a.m. April 12. Acquaintances had found Jerlean Wiggins Brown, 62, inside, suffering from a stab wound to the torso. She was taken to a local hospital to be treated for injuries not believed to be life threatening.

Moore is the victim’s former boyfriend, according to the press release.
