Man sought in strong-armed robbery

Suffolk police are seeking a suspect in a strong-armed robbery that occurred Wednesday evening.
The crime was reported at 7:47 p.m., according to a city press release. It happened at the 7-Eleven in the 1100 block of Portsmouth Boulevard.
According to the city press release, the man jumped over the counter and used force to get an undetermined amount of money from the register. No weapon was displayed, and there were no injuries.
The suspect is described as a black male in his mid-30s, about 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing 230 to 240 pounds, wearing a white shirt, dark-colored jeans and a black ball cap with white lettering.
After the incident, he ran from the store and left the parking lot in a black Cadillac with Virginia plates with the last digits “1111.”
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP. When calling Crime Line, callers do not have to give their names or appear in court. If information leads to an arrest, the caller could qualify for a reward of up to $1,000.
