Senior Services to hold Medicare info events

Senior Services’ Medicare benefits counselors will hold information and assistance events in locations at several Suffolk locations in May to assist Medicare-eligible individuals in navigating Medicare and Medicare Part D.

Assistance will also be available for those who are currently enrolled and may be eligible for the Part D Low-Income Subsidy “Extra Help” benefit.

These sessions are free and open to the public. Appointments are required only for the Senior Services of Southeastern Virginia location. Those wishing to make an appointment or for more information should call Bonnie Dozier at 449-8706 or Angela Hamblett at 328-4217.

The MedCare Access Medicare benefits counseling program, administered by Senior Services of Southeastern Virginia, serves residents of Franklin, Isle of Wight County, Southampton County and Suffolk. It is funded by a grant from the Obici Healthcare Foundation.

  • May 10, 1 to 3 p.m. — Carrollton Public Library, 14362 New Towne Haven Lane
  • May 11, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.  — Senior Services of Southeastern Virginia, 1705 N. Main St.
  • May 12, 1 to 3 p.m. — North Suffolk Library, 2000 Bennetts Creek Park Road
  • May 16, 1 to 3 p.m. — Windsor Library, 18 Duke St.
  • May 18, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.  — Senior Services of Southeastern Virginia, 1705 N. Main St.
  • May 25, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.  — Senior Services of Southeastern Virginia, 1705 N. Main St.
  • May 26, 1 to 3 p.m. — North Suffolk Library, 2000 Bennetts Creek Park Road
