Sidney Cameron Thomas, 88, died May 19, 2016.

Born in Harnett County, N.C., to Sidney G. and Maggie Kate Thomas, he loved his family, his church, his yard with flowers and especially his shop. He loved woodworking and shared his finished products generously.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Janice Lovick Thomas; his son, Sid Thomas Jr. (Melissa); daughters, Nancy Thomas Gates (Burhman) and Rosemary Thomas (Johnny Boles); grandsons A.J. and Jacob Thomas and Cameron Gates; sisters, Violet Braxton and Ruth Cashion; brothers, Halford and Larry Thomas; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May, 23, 2016, at Suffolk Presbyterian Church with Pastor Libby Rollins officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7 p.m. this evening (Sunday) in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Old Bluff Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Wade, N.C.
