Dorothy Mae Cross, 69, of 1111 Lake Kennedy Drive, Suffolk, transitioned Sunday, May 22, 2016, at her residence. She was a native of Gates, N.C., and the daughter of the late Raymond Ralph and Ruby Lee Woolford.

She retired from the food service department with Suffolk Public Schools. Ms. Cross was a member of Greater Sweet Beulah Church.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, George E. Cross Jr.; one son, Shaun Cross Sr., of Charlotte, N.C.; sisters, Brenda Miz, of Cambridge, Md., and Judy Jordan, of Suffolk; four grandchildren; brothers, Leroy Ralph, of Cambridge, Md., Tyrone Ralph, of Newport News, and Michael Jordan of Alabama; one niece, Katrina Cornish, of Cambridge, Md.; two nephews, Duane Ralph and Leroy Ralph Jr., of Cambridge, Md.; other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 28, 2016, at Greater Sweet Beulah Holiness Church officiated by Suffragan Bishop Madison G. Copeland. Interment will be in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, May 27, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Crocker Funeral Home.
